How it works

Each page you chose has its content placed on the same page, mirrored, with one transformation. Nothing is turned into a picture, and the page keeps its size and turn. Links and notes are moved by the same transformation, so they stay on what they were on.

After the file is made, it is opened again and compared with your original: the page count, text, rotation and links must all match what they should. If anything differs, no file is produced for that PDF.

Frequently asked questions

  • Is my PDF uploaded anywhere? No. Everything happens in your browser, on your device. Your PDF is never sent to a server.
  • Can I change only some of the pages? Yes. Click pages in the preview to pick them (or drag across several), use All, First, Last, Odd or Even, or type a range such as 1-3, 5. With nothing picked, every page is changed. Pages you do not pick stay exactly as they were.
  • What is the difference between the two directions? Left to Right swaps the left and right sides, like a mirror held beside the page. Top to Bottom swaps the top and bottom, like a mirror held above it.
  • Is this the same as rotating? No. Rotating turns a page without changing how it reads. Flipping makes a mirror image, so text reads backwards. Use Rotate PDF Pages to turn a page.
  • Does the text stay selectable? Yes. The page is not turned into a picture. Its content is placed mirrored, so text stays real text, though it now looks backwards.
  • Do links still work? Yes. Links and notes move with the page, so they stay on the same words.
  • Why would I flip a page? Mirrored pages are used for iron-on transfers, window decals, printing on the back of clear film and some scanning mistakes.
  • Which PDFs are not supported? Password-protected PDFs cannot be processed. Remove the password first with PDF Password Unlock. Digitally signed PDFs can be processed, but rewriting the file invalidates the signature.

What happens to your file

Nothing is uploaded, stored on a server or tracked. Your PDFs stay in your browser's memory until you remove them or close the page. The flip becomes part of each page. Flipping the result again gives back the original.

How to get the most out of it

  • Flip an even number of times to get back where you started.
  • To turn a page without mirroring it, use Rotate PDF Pages.
  • Printing for an iron-on transfer: flip Left to Right.
  • Keep your original file. The changes cannot be undone once the PDF is saved.
