Free No Limits Batch Arrows Private and Works Offline!

What's great about our PDF arrow tool

    • Your PDFs never leave your device. Every arrow is drawn right in your browser.
    • Drag from start to tip: the arrowhead is where you let go.
    • One arrow, a double arrow or a plain line, in five colours and your own.
    • Move, reshape, Undo and delete any arrow before you save.
    • Add arrows to many PDFs at once, with a ZIP download.
    • Free, no limits, no watermark, and it works offline after your first visit.

    Add your PDFs

Choose PDFs or drag them into the preview. The first PDF opens as a vertical list of large pages, which is the easiest place to draw arrows. Use Add More to add others later.

    Draw arrows

    • Pick a colour, a thickness, a head shape and the arrowheads, then drag on the page from where the arrow starts to where it points.
    • Or turn on 1-Click Mode, pick a Direction and an Arrow Length, and double-click (or click, if you chose On) where the arrow should point.
    • Click an arrow to select it. Drag it to move it, drag a square at an end to move that end, or press Delete. Undo steps back.
    • Press Ctrl+A (Cmd+A on a Mac) to select every arrow in your PDFs, then change the options to change them all.
    • Press Ctrl+C then Ctrl+V (Cmd+C then Cmd+V on a Mac) to copy the selected arrow and paste it where your pointer is on the page.
  4. 03

    Add Arrows and download

Click Add Arrows, then Download. Change anything and the button goes back to Add Arrows, ready for another run. Several PDFs download together as a ZIP.

How it works

An arrow is a straight line with a filled triangle at its tip, drawn over the page. Because the page itself is never redrawn, its text, fonts, images, links and forms stay exactly as they were. The preview and the saved file are drawn from the same instructions, so they match.

After the file is made, it is opened again and compared with your original: the page count, page sizes, rotation, text and links must all match what they should. If anything differs, no file is produced for that PDF.

Frequently asked questions

  • Is my PDF uploaded anywhere? No. Everything happens in your browser, on your device. Your PDF is never sent to a server.
  • How do I draw an arrow? Press on the page where the arrow should start, drag to where its tip should be and let go. The arrowhead is at the end where you let go.
  • What is 1-Click Mode? It adds an arrow with a click instead of a drag. Double-Click (the default) adds one when you double-click an empty spot on a page, On adds one with a single click, and Off adds none, so only dragging draws arrows. Pick one of the eight Direction arrows first: the tip lands where you click and the arrow trails back from it. It uses the colour, thickness, head shape, arrowheads and style you have set, plus the Arrow Length. Dragging still draws an arrow of any length and direction in every mode.
  • How do I change an arrow after drawing it? Click a mark on the page to select it: it gets a dashed blue outline. Then you can drag it to move it, drag a small square to resize it, change its options, or press Delete. Dragging the squares at either end moves that end.
  • Can I make a line without an arrowhead? Yes. Under Arrowheads choose 'Plain Line'. Choose 'Two Arrows' for a head at both ends.
  • Can I change the shape of the arrowhead? Yes. Under Head Shape pick 'Classic', Stealth, Open, Diamond, Dot or Bar. Click an arrow on the page first to change the shape of that arrow.
  • Will the page underneath change? No. The arrows are drawn over the page, so its text, images and links stay as they were and the text stays selectable and searchable.
  • Can the arrows be removed later? They become part of the page, so they cannot be switched off like a comment. Keep your original file if you might want the page without them.
  • Which PDFs are not supported? Password-protected PDFs cannot be processed. Remove the password first with PDF Password Unlock. Digitally signed PDFs can be processed, but rewriting the file invalidates the signature.

What happens to your file

Nothing is uploaded, stored on a server or tracked. Your PDFs stay in your browser's memory until you remove them or close the page. The arrows become part of each page, so they cannot be switched off afterwards.

How to get the most out of it

  • Use the vertical list of large pages, and zoom in with the + button to place the tip exactly.
  • Use a thicker line and a bright colour so the arrow stands out on a busy page.
  • To circle or box something instead, use Add Shapes to PDF. To write a label next to the arrow, use Add Text to PDF.
  • Keep your original file. Marks cannot be edited once the PDF is saved.
