What's great about our PDF image tool

    • Your PDFs and pictures never leave your device. Everything is added right in your browser.
    • Place a PNG, JPG or WebP picture anywhere, such as a logo, photo or scan.
    • See-through PNG and WebP pictures stay see-through.
    • One page or the same picture on every page.
    • Move, resize, turn, Undo and delete before you save.
    • Free, no limits, no watermark, and it works offline after your first visit.
  2. 01

    Add your PDFs

Choose PDFs or drag them into the preview. The first PDF opens as a vertical list of large pages, which is the easiest place to place a picture. Use Add More to add others later.

  3. 02

    Add the image

    • Click Choose Image and pick your picture, or drop it onto the preview. It appears at once on the page you are looking at, already selected.
    • Set its size, turn and strength, drag it to move it, drag its corner square to resize it, drag the round button above it to turn it, or press Delete. Undo steps back.
    • Click on another spot of a page to add the picture there too. 1-Click Mode chooses whether a click, a double click or neither adds one.
    • Press Ctrl+A (Cmd+A on a Mac) to select every image in your PDFs, then change the options to change them all.
    • Press Ctrl+C then Ctrl+V (Cmd+C then Cmd+V on a Mac) to copy the selected image and paste it where your pointer is on the page.
  4. 03

    Add Image and download

Click Add Image, then Download. Change anything and the button goes back to Add Image, ready for another run. Several PDFs download together as a ZIP.

How it works

Your picture is stored once in the PDF and placed on each page you put it on, so a logo on a hundred pages adds its size only once. Because the page itself is never redrawn, its text, fonts, images, links and forms stay exactly as they were.

After the file is made, it is opened again and compared with your original: the page count, page sizes, rotation, text and links must all match what they should. If anything differs, no file is produced for that PDF.

Frequently asked questions

  • Can I put the picture in the same spot every time? Yes. Under Position pick one of the nine spots, such as bottom right, then click anywhere on a page and the picture goes to that spot, a little in from the edge. On Click puts it where you click. With a picture selected, picking a spot moves it there.
  • Is my PDF uploaded anywhere? No. Everything happens in your browser, on your device. Your PDF is never sent to a server.
  • How do I add a picture? Click Choose Image and pick a PNG, JPG or WebP file. Then click on the page where its middle should go. Click it afterwards to select it, and the sliders change it.
  • Can I add a logo to every page? Yes. Under Pages choose 'Every Page', then click once. A copy goes in the same place on every page of that PDF, and moving or resizing one moves them all.
  • Does a see-through PNG stay see-through? Yes. A PNG or WebP keeps its see-through areas, so a logo shows only its shape.
  • How do I resize the picture? Select it and drag the square at its corner, or use the Size slider. The proportions always stay the same.
  • Will the page underneath change? No. The picture is added over the page, so its text, images and links stay as they were and the text stays selectable and searchable.
  • Can the picture be removed later? It becomes part of the page, so it cannot be removed once the PDF is saved. Keep your original file if you might want the page without it.
  • Which PDFs are not supported? Password-protected PDFs cannot be processed. Remove the password first with PDF Password Unlock. Digitally signed PDFs can be processed, but rewriting the file invalidates the signature.

What happens to your file

Nothing is uploaded, stored on a server or tracked. Your PDFs stay in your browser's memory until you remove them or close the page. Your picture is read in your browser and placed on the page. It becomes part of the PDF, so it cannot be removed afterwards.

How to get the most out of it

  • Use a PNG with a see-through background for a logo.
  • Use Every Page for a logo or letterhead on a whole document.
  • To add a signature, use Add Signature to PDF. To add a text watermark, use PDF Watermark.
  • Keep your original file. Marks cannot be edited once the PDF is saved.
