Every tool runs inside your web browser, so your files stay on your own device. Nothing is uploaded to our servers.
The name says it all: it’s your file, and it stays yours.
Why ItsMyFile exists
Many online file tools ask you to upload your document to a server you know nothing about. That is a lot to ask when the file is a contract, a bank statement, an ID card or a family photo. We built these tools so you do not have to make that trade. Your browser does the work on your own device, and we never receive the file.
They are also built to be quick to open, clear to read on a phone and simple enough to use without a manual.

How to use a tool
- Open the tool you need. Pick it from the home page or the related-tools list.
- Add your file. Drag it onto the page or tap to choose it. Many tools accept several files at once.
- Choose your options and check the preview. Page and photo previews let you see the result before you save it.
- Download. The result is created on your device and saved straight to your downloads. When you process several files, they can be downloaded together as a ZIP.
There is no sign-up, no account and no watermark added by us.
Your privacy, in plain words
- Files you open and text you type are processed by your browser. They are not sent to us.
- We cannot see your files, and we cannot recover them for you. If you close the page, they are gone from the tool.
- The site may use basic analytics and ads, which can use cookies. They never receive your files or your text. See our Cookie Policy.
- Fonts and tool code are served from this site itself, not from outside font or script libraries.

Works offline and installs like an app
Once you have opened a tool, your browser keeps a copy, so it loads fast the next time and keeps working even without an internet connection. On most phones and computers you can also install a tool to your home screen or desktop, using your browser’s “Install” or “Add to Home Screen” option.
Tips for the best results
- Use an up-to-date browser such as Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari.
- Very large files, such as a PDF with hundreds of pages or a very large photo, use your device’s memory and can be slow on an older phone. Try fewer files at a time.
- Keep your original file. Tools like compress, crop and redact create a new copy, and it is wise to check the result before you delete the original.
- HEIC and HEIF photos can only be opened by browsers that support them, such as Safari.
- A scanned PDF is a picture of a page, so tools that work on text, such as text export, find and redact, may not be able to read it.
What ItsMyFile is not
ItsMyFile is not a cloud storage service. It does one job per tool, quickly and privately. It also does not keep your files, so there is no history to go back to.
Our aim
We want simple tools that respect your privacy, load fast and work on any device. We test them carefully, but no software is perfect. If a tool misbehaves or you would like a new one, please tell us.
