    Add your PDFs

Choose PDFs or drag them into the preview. The first PDF opens as a vertical list of large pages, which is the easiest place to place stamps. Use Add More to add others later.

    Stamp

    • Pick a stamp and change its words, icon, colour, size or tilt, then click on the page where it should go.
    • Click a stamp to select it. Drag it to move it, drag the square on its edge to resize it, drag the round handle to turn it, or press Delete. Undo steps back.
    • Press Ctrl+A (Cmd+A on a Mac) to select every stamp in your PDFs, then change the options to change them all.
    • Press Ctrl+C then Ctrl+V (Cmd+C then Cmd+V on a Mac) to copy the selected stamp and paste it where your pointer is on the page.
    • To stamp every page, choose 'Every Page' before you click.
    • To put a stamp in the same spot every time, pick one of the nine spots under Position, then click anywhere on a page. On Click puts it where you click.

How it works

A stamp is bold text with boxes, rings and icons drawn as sharp lines, added over the page with one of the PDF standard fonts, so it stays crisp at any zoom. Because the page itself is never redrawn, its own text, images, links and forms stay exactly as they were.

After the file is made, it is opened again and compared with your original: the page count, page sizes, rotation, text and links must all match what they should. If anything differs, no file is produced for that PDF.

Frequently asked questions

  • Is my PDF uploaded anywhere? No. Everything happens in your browser, on your device. Your PDF is never sent to a server.
  • How do I stamp a page? Pick a stamp, then click on the page where it should go. Click it afterwards to select it, and the options change it. Drag the square on its edge to resize it and the round handle above it to turn it.
  • Can I change the words on a stamp? Yes. Every stamp has text boxes under it for its words, such as the date on Received or the name line on Approved By. You can also swap its icon, colour, size and tilt.
  • Can I stamp every page? Yes. Under Pages choose 'Every Page', then click once. A copy goes in the same place on every page of that PDF, and moving or changing one moves them all. This suits Draft and Confidential.
  • Can I put the stamp in the same spot every time? Yes. Under Position pick one of the nine spots, such as bottom right, then click anywhere on a page and the stamp goes to that spot, a little in from the edge. On Click puts it where you click. Picking a spot with a stamp selected moves it there.
  • Is the stamp real text? Yes. The words are real bold text and the boxes and icons are sharp vector lines, so it stays crisp at any zoom and the words can be selected and searched.
  • Will the page underneath change? No. The stamp is added over the page, and the page itself is never redrawn.
  • Can the stamp be removed later? It becomes part of the page, so it cannot be removed once the PDF is saved. Keep your original file if you might want the page without it.
  • Which PDFs are not supported? Password-protected PDFs cannot be processed. Remove the password first with PDF Password Unlock. Digitally signed PDFs can be processed, but rewriting the file invalidates the signature.

What happens to your file

Nothing is uploaded, stored on a server or tracked. Your PDFs stay in your browser's memory until you remove them or close the page. The stamps become part of each page, so they cannot be removed afterwards.

How to get the most out of it

  • Use Every Page with Draft or Confidential to mark a whole document.
  • Use red for warnings, green for approvals and blue for neutral notes.
  • For your own handwriting, use Add Signature to PDF. For faint text behind the page, use PDF Watermark.
  • Keep your original file. Marks cannot be edited once the PDF is saved.
