   Choose PDFs or drag them into the preview. Use Add More to add others later.

   Set what counts as blank

   • Leave Sensitivity at 3 and raise it if blank scanned pages are not found. Choose whether to remove the blank pages.
   • Click Split PDF. Each PDF gives its own ZIP of parts, and several PDFs download together.

   Split PDF and download

   Click Split PDF, then Download. Change any option and the button goes back to Split PDF, ready for another run. Several files download together as a ZIP.

How it works

Every page is drawn small and judged on how much of it is dark. The blank pages mark where one part ends and the next begins, and each part is copied out of the original page by page.

After the parts are made, each one is opened again to check that it has exactly the pages it should.

Frequently asked questions

• Is my PDF uploaded anywhere? No. Everything happens in your browser, on your device. Your PDF is never sent to a server.
• How do I use blank pages to separate documents? Put a blank sheet between your documents before scanning them in one go. This tool finds those sheets and makes a new PDF at each one.
• How does it tell a page is blank? Each page is drawn small and the share of dark pixels is measured. If it is under the limit set by Sensitivity, the page counts as blank.
• What does Sensitivity do? A higher number allows more specks before a page stops counting as blank. Raise it for dirty scans, and lower it if pages with a little text are taken for blank.
• What does Ignore Edges do? Scans often have dark borders or shadows at the edge of the sheet. Yes leaves the outer edge out when judging a page, so those pages still count as blank.
• What about two blank pages in a row? They make a single cut, so you never get an empty part.
• Do the blank pages stay in the results? Remove drops them. Keep puts each blank page at the end of the part before it.
• Which PDFs are not supported? Password-protected PDFs cannot be read. Remove the password first with PDF Password Unlock.

What happens to your file

Nothing is uploaded, stored on a server or tracked. Your files stay in your browser's memory until you remove them or close the page. The parts are made on your device and put in a ZIP that you download.

How to get the most out of it

• Use a clean white sheet as the separator, and put it in the same way as the others.
• If a page with only a few words is taken for blank, lower the Sensitivity.
• To simply delete blank pages from a PDF, use Remove Blank Pages from PDF.
